National Youth Advocate Program - Illinois
Chicago/Matteson Location
Welcome We are the National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP). We have a non-negotiable commitment to do what is best for children, youth and their families. We provide opportunities and resources through our innovative programs and services. We are dedicated to strengthening the families and communities we are proud to serve. |

The NYAP-Illinois has served children and families in the Cook County area of Illinois since 1999. In keeping with our philosophy of maintaining strong local support for our foster parents and team members, the Illinois program is administered through a regional office located at:
Under the leadership of our Executive Vice President, F. Edward Sparks, this office serves as a base for regional services which include an array of therapeutic foster care options for children ages 0-18 and CANEI (Constant and Never Ending Improvement) services for youth and their families.
NYAP also provides a toll free service reception line staffed 24 hours per day to provide timely referral and placement opportunities for our referral sources as well as assistance and support to foster parents and other stakeholders. NYAP works cooperatively with contract sources and referral agencies to develop child-focused and fiscally responsible solutions to the needs of children, youth, and families in the communities we serve.
The cornerstones to our successful services with children and families are our caring and committed foster parents and the dedicated NYAP team members who support them. Our foster parents have opened their homes to provide a safe and secure environment to children in their own community who are currently unable to live with their family of origin.
Foster parents often find themselves working with biological families in a mentoring or other supportive manner to strengthen the family and allow the child to return home. In cases where children are unable to return to their biological parents, some foster parents have selected to adopt their foster child.
