NYAP initiated foster care services in Broward County, Florida in 2008 as a contract agency for the County Lead Child Welfare Agency, Childnet, Inc. NYAP’s innovative program in Broward county recruits and trains parents to provide enhanced foster homes to children and youth experiencing challenges related to ongoing medical issues, substance abuse, challenging behaviors, or gender identity.
Our foster parents in the Florida program receive specialized training to assist them with meeting the needs of, and the challenges of serving, this population of children.
